Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. Buss is the founder and director of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss hails from California, was raised in an very wealthy family. Jerry Buss, her father was a businessman in the field of real estate and later was the owner of Lakers Sports and Entertainment. After her parents divorced in 1972 She began feeling emotionally abandoned. When she was 19 years old, she was appointed the general manager of Los Angeles Strings, a professional tennis team. Later, she established the Los Angeles Blades professional roller hockey team. Prior to becoming vice-president of the Lakers She was also the president of Great Western Forum. Her father passed away in 2013 and his controlling control of the Lakers was transferred to Buss as well as her siblings via a trust for the family with each sibling having an equal vote. In 2013, she took charge of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-owner of Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling organization based at Los Angeles.
