Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his distinctive style. Sunshine has performed everywhere from Broadway up to The Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine is a name that she has given her is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta however, her roots lie located in Chester Pennsylvania. There she started to pursue a musical career performing and singing in a church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she started her journey into music on the city's R&B scene. Since then, it has been remixed and a part of her set. Her voice was also featured in the music video for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in his stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for the position of director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta for the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was at the center of attention for the nation during daily performances of four at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being asked to sing in the presence of President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
