John Denver, a singer-songwriter born in Colorado who specialized in folk music has touched the hearts of millions. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in love with Colorado and later settled in Aspen. Denver's popular state anthems has been a draw for many who have come newcomers to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. In 2011, Denver was named the Hall of fame's first inductee. The state of Colorado is a popular symbol across the globe. On my trips I've met folks from New Zealand or the other side. If you say that you're from Colorado The first thing they'll use are Oh John Denver. Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was among Denver's top 10 solo success after performing alongside small folk ensembles. It was co-written and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff had written the song using Johnny Cash in mind but when Denver heard an early version immediately, he realized it was one of the top hits. The song was performed on stage in Washington D.C. to a massive crowd, Denver recorded it just days later.
